About Rhize
You may be wondering why the name RHIZE?
One of the most spectacular sites in all of nature is the quaking aspen tree groves which are also one of the largest connected organism on the planet. Aspens are categorized as RHIZOMES (which from the Greek means "mass of roots") and grow beneath the surface sometimes for years before sending up it's beautiful masterpiece when the time and circumstances are just right. RHIZE is a tribute to the 43 acres of aspen groves that we steward here in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.

About Us
Ron and Misty bought Rhize Mountain Retreat in 2013 after searching for 3 years for a place that had the qualities of beauty, serenity, natural resources, fresh mountain air and convenience to their home in Colorado Springs. For several years, RHIZE was a vacant piece of land with only tent campsites, a 26 foot tipi and a 1977 Coachman camper. In 2019 the process to build more durable structures and conveniences began with the first A-frame (the Goldbug) which has served as the model for the additional 3 A-frame structures built over the last year. In 2021 we built a magnificent bunkhouse structure we call the Hummingbird barn. It is a triple A-frame that has 3 awnings that open to the aspen forest and a hummingbird garden. Future plans for this area are an attached greenhouse that will offer guests organic vegetables and permaculture forest farm project which will be done in collaboration with Colorado College.
"Experiencing RHIZE is like opening your heart to the power of nature, the Creator, and the profound impact of letting go of the need to continually do more". Our hope is that RHIZE will inspire all those that walk this sacred space to fully embrace what is Divine, to care more deeply for the planet, to connect to a higher good and cherish the simple things all around us.
We can't wait to meet you...sincerely Ron and Misty
